The Florida Gunfighter Summit

The 2026 Florida Gunfighter Summit brings together experienced firearms instructors, tactical medical professionals, industry partners, Serious Students for two days of focused, hands-on training.

Participants will rotate through specialized pistol, rifle, applied gunfighting, and casualty-response instruction in small groups. Optional night time sessions will provide dedicated low-light and night-vision training.

This is not a beginner firearms course. Attendance is limited, and all participants must complete an application before purchasing admission.

  • Ozark School of Gunfighting

    As a former Marine machine gunner and assaulter, Nick Nesbitt served as a combat marksmanship instructor before transitioning into private contracting. With 18 years in the firearms industry and seven years of professionally sharing his knowledge, his focus on helping shooters build the skills and mindset needed to be prepared for the realities of saving and taking lives.

  • Bellicose Consulting

    Joseph Andress is a professional firearms and security instructor with more than a decade of combined military and private-sector experience. A former U.S. Marine Corps Infantry Squad Leader, his background includes advanced marksmanship, small-unit tactics, tactical planning, force protection, and instructor development.

    His instructional philosophy is simple: build strong fundamentals, establish measurable standards, and develop skills that hold up under pressure.

    Mike is a seasoned Law Enforcement Officer, serving as both a SWAT Team Leader and the senior officer in his agency's training division. He is a certified instructor in a wide range of disciplines, including firearms, defensive tactics, close quarters combat, active shooter response, first aid/TCCC, emergency vehicle operations and more. Beyond his active LE duty, Mike is a Master Level shooter in USPSA competitive shooting

  • Red Zone Rescue

    Colton Martin is a former U.S. Army 68W Healthcare Specialist who served with the 82nd Airborne Division. His experience spans military medicine, emergency medical services, executive protection, and operational support in austere environments worldwide.

    An EMT-Advanced since 2014, Colton specializes in TCCC, Stop the Bleed, trauma response, first aid, and prolonged field care. He brings real-world experience and a practical, safety-focused teaching style that prepares students to provide effective care when professional help may be delayed.

    Jeff Kelly is a U.S. Navy veteran and the owner and lead instructor of Gundaddy Inc. with more then 10 years of firearms instruction experience, he draws from his background as a Navy Gunners mate, firefighter, private-security professional to deliver practical, safety-focused training designed for real-world application.

Four Groups, Multiple Training Blocks. One Complete Weekend.

Attendees will be divided into small groups and rotate through Specialized instruction blocks through the weekend. This Format gives every participant access to each training organization whole keeping the student-to-instructor rotation manageable.

Final group assignments and schedules will be provided before the event.

Own the night

Continue Training after sunset with Dedicated low-light and night vision sessions. Participants will work through equipment management, target identification, safe weapon handling, practical shooting exercises in reduced visibility.

Night-Vision Track

Low Light Track

Night training requires a separate add-on and has limited capacity. Daytime admission is required. Final equipment requirements will be provided before the event.

This event is Not for First-Time Shooters

Applicants should already be able to safely load, unload, operate, and clear their firearms without direct assistance. Participants must consistently maintain muzzle discipline, trigger-finger discipline, and follow range commands in a group-training enviroment.

Previous formal firearms training is strongly recommended. Every applicant will be reviewed before registration access is provided.

Handgun Equipment

  • Reliable semi-automatic handgun
  • Minimum of three magazines, five recommended
  • Quality belt mounted holster that completely covers the trigger guard
  • Holster must securely retain the handgun during movement
  • Magazine pouches
  • Sturdy gun belt
  • Cleaning and lubrication supplies
  • Basic tools and replacement parts for your handgun

Serpa-style trigger-release holsters, cross-draw holsters, shoulder holsters, ankle holsters, and off-body carry setups are not permitted during live-fire training.

Rifle Equipment

  • Reliable semi-automatic rifle
  • Properly mounted and zeroed optic or iron sights
  • Two-point sling
  • Minimum three magazines; five recommended
  • Rifle magazine pouches or chest rig
  • Weapon-mounted light for night participants
  • Spare optic and light batteries
  • Cleaning supplies, lubricant, and basic tools

Rifles must arrive mechanically sound, properly lubricated, and zeroed

Eye and hearing protection are mandatory during live fire.

Ammunition Requirements

Anticipated maximum round count:

  • 750 rounds of reliable factory handgun ammunition
  • 1,000 rounds of reliable factory rifle ammunition
  • Additional ammunition may be required for optional night training
  • Final round counts will be sent after instructor curriculums are confirmed

Students supply their own ammunition unless they purchase an ammunition-inclusive package. Factory ammunition is strongly recommended.

Night-Training Equipment

For low-light training:

For night-vision training:

  • Helmet-mounted night-vision system
  • Secure helmet and mounting system

Night-vision equipment should be assembled, tested, and operational before arrival. Any rental equipment must be reserved in advance.

Ammunition and Equipment Restrictions

The following are prohibited:

  • Steel-core, armor-piercing, tracer, incendiary, or explosive ammunition
  • Unsafe, damaged, or unreliable firearms
  • Holsters operated by pressing a release with the trigger finger
  • Equipment prohibited by Okeechobee Shooting Sports
  • Unapproved or unsafe night-vision mounting systems

Suppressors and regulated firearms remain the participant’s legal responsibility. Event staff may remove any firearm, ammunition, holster, or equipment considered unsafe.

Who should I contact with questions?


Contact GunDaddy through the website contact page or the event contact information included in your registration confirmation. Questions about equipment compatibility should be submitted before purchasing new equipment or arriving at the event.

What is the cancellation and transfer policy?


Due to the limited number of available positions and nonrefundable event expenses, registration payments are nonrefundable. An attendee may request to transfer their registration to another person, but the replacement participant must apply, be approved, and complete all required waivers. Transfer requests must be received no later than 30 days before the event.


If GunDaddy cancels the entire event and does not provide a rescheduled date, registered participants will receive a refund of admission fees paid directly to GunDaddy. Travel, lodging, ammunition, rental, and other personal expenses are not reimbursable.

What happens if there is severe weather?


Training will continue during normal Florida weather when it is safe to do so. GunDaddy and Okeechobee Shooting Sports may delay, modify, or suspend activities when weather or range conditions create a safety concern. Updates will be sent directly to registered participants.

Will I need to complete a waiver?


Yes. Participants must complete all required GunDaddy and Okeechobee Shooting Sports waivers before training. Waiver links and completion instructions will be sent after registration.

Are meals and lodging included?

Meals, lodging, transportation, and travel expenses are not included unless specifically stated in a package. Participants should bring dinner, snacks, water, and electrolyte drinks each day. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Camping spots will be reserved at Okeechobee shooting sports. Rv spots and tent camping spots. Advanced registration will be required for RV spots

What firearms and equipment do I need?


Participants need a reliable handgun, reliable semi-automatic rifle, quality belt-mounted holster, rifle sling, magazines, magazine pouches, eye protection, hearing protection, and the personal equipment listed in the event gear section. Final requirements will be emailed before the event.

Is ammunition included with admission?


Students are responsible for supplying their own ammunition unless they purchase an ammunition-inclusive package. Any unused ammunition purchased through a package remains with the participant.

How much ammunition should I bring?


The anticipated maximum is 750 rounds of handgun ammunition and 1,000 rounds of rifle ammunition. Final round counts will be emailed after all instructor curriculums are confirmed. Additional ammunition may be required for optional night training.

Are night-vision rentals available?


A limited number of night-vision systems will be available by advance reservation. Rental fees are separate unless specifically included in your package. A rental is not guaranteed until your reservation is confirmed

Do I need night vision to attend the night training?


No. Participants without night vision can select the Low-Light Track, which focuses on handheld and weapon-mounted flashlight techniques. Participants will also have an opportunity to try selected night-vision equipment with participating vendors.

Is this event suitable for beginners?


The Florida Gunfighter Summit is not intended for first-time shooters. Applicants should understand firearm safety and be able to safely load, unload, operate, and clear their handgun and rifle without direct assistance. All applicants will be reviewed before registration.

Why is an application required?


The application helps us confirm that participants possess the experience necessary to safely train in an intermediate-level group environment. Approved applicants will receive a private registration link.

What does admission include?


Admission includes two days of daytime training, scheduled training rotations, Breakfast and lunch, event materials, camping spots reserved at Okeechobee shooting sports and access to participating vendors. Night training, rentals, ammunition, lodging, meals, and travel are only included when specifically listed in your ticket package

Can I attend for only one day?


Admission is currently offered as a complete two-day experience. Single-day admission may be offered later only if space remains available.

Is night training included?


Night training is included with VIP admission. Early and general-admission participants may purchase the Night Training Add-On separately, subject to availability.
